Think that a successful online or mobile qual study means capturing lots of data? Think again.
Data isn’t insight, it’s the people - you - that do the inference that deliver the actionable insight that helps your clients make better decisions. So how can your deliver a successful online qual study if your participants aren’t happy or you’re not prepared?
Real success comes from the quality of your relationships you form with participants, the tone and language adopted and the emotions that you impart and absorb. But there’s more of course. That's where these 10 questions come in.
Before you head off into your online qual study, I absolutely guarantee that you'll be more successful if you ask yourself these questions:

- Could my mum understand and respond to the questions, activities and discussions that I am setting?
- Have I given my participants a little bit of me so that they can reciprocate and give me some of them?
- Have I challenged the brief sufficiently and not just gone with what my client wants, after all I am being paid for my wisdom and experience, not just for my admin skills?
- Am I valuing my participants time and would I accept the same reward if it were me?
- Have I avoided technical jargon and used plain English?
- Have I made it clear when I want them to discuss, and when I just want them to share a picture?
- Have I given my participants enough time to do what I want them to do?
- Have I built in enough time to thank participants for their time and contribution on a regular basis during the course of the study?
- Am I ready and prepared to get to know my participants personally?
